Terps Social Justice Panel Event

After the death of George Floyd by police, there has been a renewed movement for racial and economic justice. This panel from the Alumni Association will explore this topic through discussion about bias in the our society, with a focus on the criminal justice system, and the protest movement that has flowed from it. The panel will feature current and former criminal justice practitioners in addition to academics who study the effect of bias in society and the protest movement that has sprung from it. The panel will be moderated by NY Terps Board Member Gary Kaufman and questions will be taken from participants at the end. This event is co-sponsored by The New York Terps Alumni Network, Philadelphia Terps Network and The University of Maryland Black Alumni Network.
