This Saturday is Maryland Day, UMD’s annual springtime open house! Parking and admission are free and campus will be full of interactive demonstrations, performances and workshops that celebrate community, discovery and Terp pride.
Be sure to stop by the Terp Town Center area to visit two Belonging & Community units:
OMSE’s Multicultural Activity Zone
When: All day (10 AM to 4 PM)
Where: Hornbake Library, South
Hosted by: The Office of Multi-ethnic Student Education
Description: Join the Office of Multi-ethnic Student Education for games and activities showcasing students' unique customs and traditions.
Nyumburu’s Maryland Day extravaganza
When: All day (10 AM to 4 PM)
Where: Nyumburu Cultural Center
Hosted by: Nyumburu Amphitheater and Patio
Description: Enjoy performances by dance troupes, the Maryland Gospel Choir, tae kwon do practitioners, steppers, gospel singers, hip-hop and rap artists, and other student groups and professional artists. On the terrace/patio, find popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, refreshments, a moon bounce, a caricatures artist and face painting.
