Serve as a Title IX Hearing Advisor
The Office of Civil Rights and Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM) is seeking volunteers to be Title IX Hearing Advisors. Title IX Hearing Advisors are university staff trained on the policies and procedures under Title IX who are called to serve for either complainants or respondents that do not have an advisor.
Roles of Title IX Hearing Advisors:
- Support the party that is involved in the process
- Prepare the party for the pre-hearing and hearing meetings that occur at the end of the formal complaint process
- Conduct the cross-examination during the hearing (ask questions during the hearing on behalf of the party they are advising)
The training will take place virtually on October 20, from 12 PM to 4 PM. To attend the training, please click on the following link to register: OCRSM Training Registration.
Any questions can be sent to OCRSM director and Title IX coordinator Angela Nastase, J.D. at titleixcoordinator@umd.edu.
