Shantala’s Pauli Murray curriculum is now available!
We proudly shared a few weeks ago that LGBTQ+ Equity Center associate director Shantala Thompson was recently commissioned by The Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice to write a curriculum companion to the book, Pauli Murray: The Life of a Pioneering Feminist & Civil Rights Activist.
“This was such a fun project,” Shantala reflects, “as I worked with Pauli Murray's niece, who spent significant time with Murray and is the co-author of the book, as well as brilliant historians and archivists.”
More good news: the curriculum is now available to the public: Pauli Murray: The Life of a Pioneering Feminist & Civil Rights Activist Curriculum Guide (also available on the Pauli Murray Center’s website’s resources page alongside a video of Murray’s niece!).
Shantala has a long history in both higher and K-12 education and has written curricula for teachers and students of all levels, so this isn’t new territory! She shares, “I find great joy in writing accessible curricula that highlight social-emotional learning, history, and the intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and ability.”
Please join us in celebrating this accomplishment! And feel free to use and share the curriculum with others.
